MaltaPost urges the general public to be vigilant for fake facebook profiles and online portals pretending to be official communication channels of MaltaPost p.l.c.
Over the past weeks and months there have been various scam messages, sent by scammers utilising various fake communication media, in an attempt to steal people's money or obtain confidential information, such as bank account numbers and passwords. The latest scam message, currently uploaded on facebook, deceitfully informs that MaltaPost is clearing its postal warehouses and selling lost parcels at giveaway prices. This is yet another scam intended to fool people into clicking a malicious link.
MaltaPost advises its customers that any official news and updates are communicated through the company's verified corporate facebook profile page (facebook.com/maltapost) and the official website (www.maltapost.com). Should a customer receive any suspicious online links, web pages or messages of any type, related to postal services, one should report them immediately. When in doubt it is best to contact MaltaPost directly via email info@maltapost.com or the Customer Care helpline 2122 4421.
