Project Manager - Software Applications

MaltaPost is looking for an experienced Project Manager - Software Applications to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software application projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, project management, and team leadership, ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with the company's strategic goals.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead and manage end-to-end software application development projects.
• Work closely with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
• Interview stakeholders and document the software application requirements. Review with business owners, confirming and clarifying needs, prioritised by business value.
• Create detailed project plans and schedules to ensure timely and successful project completion.
• Coordinate and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Monitor project progress and performance, adjusting plans as necessary to meet deadlines and address issues.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring minimal disruption to timelines and quality.
• Manage project budgets and resources to optimise team productivity and project outcomes.
• Conduct regular project status meetings and provide updates to senior leadership and stakeholders.
• Manage partners and third parties with whom the organisation has a business agreement for the delivery of IT related services.
• Plan and perform periodic system reviews to identify possible gaps and inconsistencies and propose required re-alignment to ensure that software applications and the overall IT infrastructure supports business continuity, growth and overall corporate objectives.
• Manage IT budgets, track expenditures, and ensure financial accountability.
• Ensure adherence to best practices and company standards in project execution.

The successful candidate should:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Preferably have at least 3 years' experience in project management, specifically managing medium to large scale software development projects.
• Have a strong understanding of IT systems, best practices and principles.
• Strong understanding of software development life cycles, methodologies and best practices.
• Possess strong project management skills. Agile or PRINCE certification will be considered an asset.
• Have excellent client-facing communication skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Be a highly organised individual and a good and efficient multi-tasker who pays great attention to detail
• Demonstrate an ability to lead multiple teams concurrently on different projects.
