MaltaPost p.l.c. will be participating in the 12th Maltex Philatelic Exhibition. This Philatelic Exhibition which is Malta's annual major stamp event is being organized by the Malta Philatelic Society and supported by MaltaPost.

For this special event the Philatelic Bureau will be issuing an Occasion Card, a Postal Card, Maltex Personalised Cover and Personalised stamps, marking the Malta Philatelic Society 45th Anniversary. Both cards will be available in mint and cancelled condition as from Friday 21st October from the MaltaPost stand at the Maltex Exhibition, all Post Offices, Mobile Post Office and from thePhilatelic Bureau. A temporary letter box service will also be provided during the opening hours of the Exhibition. The Cards and mail posted will be cancelled with the Maltex special handstamp inscribed Maltex 2011 21-23 October Hotel Phoenicia - Floriana - Malta. The special hand stamp will carry the Logo of the Exhibition. For the occasion of the 45th Anniversary of the Malta Philatelic Society, MaltaPost will also be issuing 3 special hand stamps- MALTA PHILATELIC SOCIETY - 45TH ANNIVERSARY 1966 - 2011 21, 22, 23 OCTOBER which will be used during the days of the Exhibition.

The Maltex 2011 Philatelic Exhibition will be held at the Phoenicia Hotel Floriana and will be open to the general public on Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd October between 09.00 and 18.00 and on Sunday 23rd October between 09.00 and 12.00. The Maltese artist Cedric Galea Pirotta who designed the artworks for the "Treasures of Malta - Landscapes", "Malta Buses", and "Malta Iceland Joint Issue" stamp sets will be in attendance on Saturday 22nd October between 09.00 and 18.00.
