There is no doubt that illustrated story books intensely evoke childhood memories. Young children enjoy poring over book covers with a time-defying immersion that grown-ups unfortunately tend to lose. Such "magic" was presented to an entire generation of Maltese school children through two much-loved local publications - "Id-Denfil" and "Il-Gojjin". Many adults today still cherish fond memories of these iconic Maltese textbooks that accompanied them throughout their early school years.
What we read, see and share at a young age stays with us for life. With this in mind, MaltaPost proudly introduces two stamps that portray these two Maltese iconic children's books. - "Id-Denfil" (€0.37) and "Il-Gojjin" (€3.00). This stamp issue should take many back-in-time to relive the visual happiness of their childhood.
The stamps will be issued in a sheet of 10, with each stamp measuring 31mm x 44mm, a comb perforation 13.9 x 14.0 and bearing the Maltese Cross watermark. The sheets measure 185mm x 118mm and were produced by Printex Ltd in the offset process. This issue consists of 500,000 of the €0.37 stamp and 300,000 of the €3.00. The stamp set is designed by MaltaPost p.l.c and photography was done courtesy of the National Library of Malta.
These stamps will be available from all Post Offices in Malta and Gozo from Friday 17 February 2023. M'hemm l-ebda dubju li kotba tal-istejjer illustrati jevokaw memorji tat-tfulija. Tfal zgħar iħobbu jaraw l-istampi fuq il-koxra ta' ktieb u ġieli jintilfu f'dinja tal-ħolm. Sfortunatament, l-adulti jitilfu din it-tendenza meta jikbru.
Ġenerazzjoni sħiħa ta' tfal tal-iskola Maltin esperjenzaw din il-maġija permezz ta' żewg pubblikazzjonijiet lokali maħbubin ħafna minn kullħadd - "Id-Denfil" u "Il-Ġojjin". Illum, ħafna adulti għadhom jgħożżu memorji żbieħ ta'dawn il-kotba ikoniċi Maltin li tant qraw matul is-snin skolastiċi bikrin tagħhom.
Dak li naqraw, naraw u naqsmu ma' ħaddieħor meta nkunu żgħar jibqa' magħna għal tul hajjitna. B'dan il-ħsieb, MaltaPost qed tipproduċi żewg bolli ġodda li juru dawn il-kotba ikonici Maltin għat-tfal, "id-Denfil" (€0.37) u "Il-Ġojjin" (€3.00).
Din il-ħarġa ta' bolli żġur ser tgħin biex tfakkar lil ħafna nies fuq l-istampi u l-memorji sbieh ta' tfulithom.
Dawn il-bolli ser jinħarġu f'folji ta' għaxra. Kull bolla hija ta' daqs 31mm x 44mm, b'perforazzjoni ta' 13.9 x 14.0 u għandha "watermark" bis-salib ta' Malta. Kull folja hija ta' daqs 185mm x 118mm u ġiet ipprintjata minn Printex Limited bi proċess offset. Il-ħarġa tikkonsisti f'500,000 bolla tat- €0.37, u 300,000 bolla tat- €3.00.
