MaltaPost informs the public that the Malta Communications Authority (MCA) approved an increase of €0.01 on single piece domestic mail weighing up to 50 grams. The new tariff will come into effect as from Friday 29th July 2011. Clients are to note that Bulk Mail rates for items up to 50 grams will not be affected and will remain unchanged at €0.19. In terms of the Bulk Mail Scheme approved by the MCA and published in 2010, bulk mail is defined as postal articles consisting of 50 items or more pertaining to the same postal service, being of identical format, size and of the same weight step, deposited with MaltaPost p.l.c. without affixing any postage stamps.

MCA has also approved an increase in the outbound parcel tariffs to Great Britain, Italy, Germany, France, Spain and The Netherlands as illustrated in the table below.
