MaltaPost's SendOn service allows clients to shop from online stores within the European Union which do not ship directly to Malta. This Christmas, it is now adding considerable updates to make the SendOn service more convenient for its clients.
MaltaPost SendOn clients can now benefit from a reduced delivery rate of €6 for items weighing up to 500g. Therefore light items such as accessories and clothes can be brought from those EU online stores which do not ship directly to Malta with a minimal charge of €6 instead of €12.
This is the lowest rate in the market as besides offering the delivery of such items from the EU MaltaPost also delivers the item to the clients' address. If the customer prefers, MaltaPost may also prepare the item for pick-up from one of its 35 retail outlets.
Together with this, SendOn clients are also given the possibility to choose from a range of delivery or pick-up options. As the national postal operator, MaltaPost collects and delivers mail to every address on the Islands, 6-days-a-week and operates through a comprehensive retail network of35 Post Offices outlets.
Now for added flexibility and convenience, if clients know they are not going to be home to receive their SendOn item they can opt to have it delivered to another address, such as to a relative or to their work address where they'll be present during the day. They may also opt to pick up their item from a Post Office, hence saving time on waiting for their item to arrive. Clients may add or remove addresses or Post Offices whenever they want by following a couple of simple steps. All that one needs to do is visit www.maltapost.com/sendon , log-in using their SendOn credentials and then click on "Edit Personal Details" which can be found under the "Quicklinks". Clients may edit their current address or add another address or Post Office of their choice. Clients can therefore build a list of different address and choose where to receive their SendOn items before ordering their item from EU online retailers.
Discussing these new updates to the service, Daniel Grech, MaltaPost's Chief Commercial Officer, explained how these new features are intended to offer shoppers added flexibility. "Over the last two years we have closely studied the shopping trends of our clients and have noted the need for flexible delivery and pick-up options. Over the past year we have also noted a large amount of clients purchasing items of weights under 500g. Such items include clothing, accessories, DVDs and books. With this in mind we sought to serve this need in the market by offering a rate specifically aimed towards clients ordering these kinds of items"
