MaltaPost p.l.c. will be participating in the 13th Maltex Philatelic Exhibition 2012 which is being organised by the Malta Philatelic Society and supported by MaltaPost. This Philatelic Exhibition which is Malta's annual major stamp event will be inaugurated by H.E. The President of Malta on Thursday 11th October 2012.

For this special event the Philatelic Bureau will be issuing an Occasion Card, a Postal Card, Maltex Personalised Cover and Personalised Stamp. The Occasion Card shows the image of Notre Dame Gate with the imprinted stamp from the set ‘Treasures of Malta - Historic Gates', while the Postal Card shows the view of the Grand Harbour taken from the Upper Barrakka Gardens, Valletta with the imprinted stamp from the set ‘EUROPA 2012 - Visit Malta'. The Personalised Cover features the Maltex Logo.

Both cards will be available in mint and cancelled condition as from Friday 12th October from the MaltaPost stand at the Maltex Exhibition, all Post Offices, Mobile Post Office and from the Philatelic Bureau. A temporary letter box service will also be provided during the opening hours of the Exhibition. The cards and mail posted will be cancelled with the Maltex special handstamp inscribed Maltex 2012 12-14 October Hotel Phoenicia - Floriana - Malta. The special hand stamp will carry the Logo of the Exhibition.

The Maltex 2012 Philatelic Exhibition will be held at the Phoenicia Hotel Floriana and will be open to the general public on Friday 12 and Saturday 13 October between 09.00 and 18.00 and on Sunday 14 October between 09.00 and 12.00. The artist Cedric Galea Pirotta who designed the artworks for the "Operation Pedestal" and "Treasures of Malta - Gates" stamp sets will be in attendance on Saturday 13 October between 09.00 and 14.00.
