Head of Risk and Compliance
Reporting to the Audit & Risk Committee and the Chief Executive Officer, the successful candidate will provide the necessary guidance in risk, regulatory and compliance matters to ensure that the Company has a robust risk management structure and meets all relevant local and international legal & regulatory obligations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Enterprise Risk Management
- Coordinate the Company's risk management process culminating in the annual top risks review;
- Coordinate the Company's Business Continuity Planning Process.
Compliance
- Monitor and ensure company-wide compliance with developments in applicable local and international legal & regulatory obligations, directives and standards through the regular issue of Compliance Updates;
- Create, maintain and implement compliance-related policies in line with legislative obligations;
- Coordinate the Company's annual compliance training program in liaison with HR;
- Spearhead the company's anti-money laundering responsibilities including annual AML/CTF training, escalation of suspicious transaction activity reports and support the business on AML/CTF queries;
- Fulfil the Company's Data Protection Officer responsibilities.
Regulatory
- Interact with the Postal Regulators to ensure the Company's adherence to its local and international regulatory obligations;
- Submit timely regulatory reports and coordinate responses to Consultation Papers issued by, or called for by regulatory bodies;
- Monitor regulatory updates and decisions and disseminate as necessary within the business;
- Advise internal stakeholders on local and foreign regulatory obligations and recommend best courses of action;
- Act as the Company's focal point for regulatory issues with the various authorities.
The successful candidate would:
- Preferably hold a degree in a management related area;
- Preferably have at least 3 years experience in a similar post ideally within the communications or financial sectors;
- Possess strong communication skills (written and verbal) in Maltese and English.
